Recently, Frontiers had the pleasure of working with three generations while organizing a trout adventure to Tecka Lodge in the Esquel Region of Northern Patagonia. The family had a marvelous visit and all discussions after they returned home were upbeat and ready to go again. We’re not sure if anyone had more fun fishing than their two grandsons. Rumor has it they were out the door and on the water from dawn to dusk and covered the Tecka spring creek – right behind the Headquarters Lodge – until they were masters of their domain. During my conversation with Dr. V, the patriarch of the family, he reckoned the boys had brought in well over a hundred fish to hand. Future guides in the making? We think so.
Tecka Lodge is one of the largest estancias in the region and boasts two magnificent lodges and countless miles of private access river brimming with browns, rainbows and brookies. Whether for a family departure or a group of friends, this is as fine a choice as one can make in Patagonia.
