Autumn in the American West: A Perfect Time for Navigating Montana’s Rivers (Part 1)
Oct, 2013: I am in Montana with a couple of client friends. We are visiting, Big Hole Lodge and the Missouri River Ranch — both great Frontiers lodges! I love Montana in late October…beautiful autumn colors, lots of wildlife, aggressive trout and very few anglers on the water! Crisp, cool nights and sunny days are the norm with snowcapped mountains around. The state is awesome at this time of the year!
We had a nice day on Upper Rock Creek with some browns and cutthroats. While nymphs were most successful, we picked up some fish on dries and on the streamer. Off to the Big Hole tomorrow.
